The Pub on the Beach Well, I thought it should have been called the Sparny Tickle, or Thornyback, or Driftwood, or something like that. I'm told "The Oasis" was the name of Darren's chip van, so he just transported the name to his new beach bar and grill. What a lovely spot! It should be very popular during the summer months, a nice place to go for a walk and stop in for a brew during the spring and fall, and if it can cater to the snowmobilers in the winter, then it could be a year round thing. Let's hope it is and that it's successful.
It's a bar AND grill. They'll be serving French fries, hamburgers, steaks, things like that. I haven't seen the menu yet, but when I get a chance, I'll update this a little. I walked down there yesterday in anticipation of
their opening at 11:00 am, but they had a lot of last minute glitches so they
were delayed a little. They may have opened yesterday evening. Their OFFICIAL
opening is July 9th, and they have some great plans for that event, with some
first rate entertainment. The Oasis features a large dining platform and
entertainment area. This will be very nice: Go for a walk in the evening; sit on their deck and have a beer and a plate of fries; walk home. One could do worse.
