2009 - The Best Carnival Ever
It all wrapped up last night with a great
bonfire, an impressive fireworks display, hot dogs, hot chocolate and
amazing community spirit.
Kudos to the Carnival Committee who worked
extremely hard for months in preparation and for 11 days of Carnival that
they must have found exhausting.
This year's Carnival was certainly the best
ever, with what had to be record turnouts for those events that can be
measured that way. The children seemed to be much more involved at the
field, in the dog show, at the schools, at the bingo, and at opening and
closing ceremonies. There were great mounds of snow for them to play on
last night, and they were there in numbers I haven't seen before.

Carol and I discovered it was a wonderful
time to have visitors. We took them out to dinner just about every night.
They were impressed. The comment one made, having just played bridge for a
couple of hours, was that "people sure are friendly." What else
would you expect.

This is a shot to remember the
Carnival by. It's only slightly photoshopped. That's ONE shot of
fireworks combined with the people on the hill watching it.
See you in 2010.
