Carol and I did a lot of wedding photography about 20 years ago. The few weddings that we've done lately have just been for friends and family. We're going to do this on a regular basis now.
We offer both highest quality 35mm photography and digital photography. We do not do videos. Both Carol and I do the weddings. Carol will go to the home (staging area :-) ) of the bride and take a lot of candids there. I will do the church photography (in coordination with the family and the clergy), and we will both do the group and individual shots after. Carol does a great job of making sure everyone is at his/her best and that the groupings are well done.
Our prices are very reasonable. We can tailor our pricing to fit your needs. Here are some sample possibilities:

We can do a package for you that includes the following: A minimum of 50 (35mm) 4 by 6 high quality proofs that includes home shots, church (venue) shots, and group and individual shots (we do not do studio work). These shots will be done outdoors or at a place of your/our choosing. (These proofs are NOT stamped and are good quality. They will be suitable for albums or frames.) You may wish the proofs at 5 by 7 for a slightly higher cost. A minimum of 50 digital shots suitable for viewing on computer or TV. (We WILL NOT give you access to the original raw files.) We will make these shots available to view on our website (low resolution) where they may be viewed by anyone you direct to the site and where orders may be placed. The prices for these digital prints will be quite reasonable. (Note: the pictures on our website will be small and low quality, and stamped, not suitable for printing or copying. We will have the high quality pictures on our laptop to show you at your convenience.) Our digital quality will be good enough to allow printing up to 11 by 14 without any loss of definition (unless severely cropped). Included in the package will be 12 high quality 8 by 10 prints from either the 35mm proofs or the digital proofs. We DO NOT include the cost of the album(s). You may either purchase the album(s) yourself, or order them through us (our cost plus 10%). Additional prints of any size are an extra cost, but will be priced very reasonably. The costs of the additional prints will vary depending not only on the size, but on the quality of the print you want done. (For example, airbrushing, object removal, cropping, etc., will all add to the cost. If you just want copies of the original proofs, these will not be expensive.) We will do candid shots at any reception and dance (1 hour's work). These will be included in the proofs. If this involves more than an hour (and it probably will), we can work something out. At any time you may ask us to do specific shots. This package will cost you $500.00 (100 proofs - yours to keep, home, church, group [and reception and dance if applicable] and individual shots) plus 12 8 by 10 prints. We can negotiate the cost of any other items you may wish. |
In all things we are reasonable, professional, and very easy to work with. It's your day. We will try to make it very special without being intrusive or demanding. You will find that having both of us there for the group shots makes things go a little faster and makes the finished product less likely to have setup flaws.
Note: We've never had a catastrophe, but we prepare for it. If the unthinkable should happen and we should lose all our 35mm shots, we still have the digital shots and these are at least as good as the 35mm. And of course, the opposite is also true.
Our equipment:
We have just updated all our equipment, with new lenses and a new flash for our Olympus 35MM camera bodies. We've just purchased a Nikon D70, a high quality digital SLR camera. (It will be the best digital camera on the market for a week or two.) This camera has a wonderful flash system that allows for exceptional lighting under just about any circumstances. We will take advantage of all its capabilities. We also have a small Canon S40 that's high quality but unobtrusive that we'll use for a lot of the candid shots. We do have a good Sony digital camcorder, but we do not pretend any expertise in this area, so we don't offer it as part of any package. We could do simple things with it such as run around to the tables and ask people to speak/sing/pantomime their greetings. :-) In any case, we use ALL the cameras to make sure we have plenty of backups.
