Tagga

Hi!

My name is Tagga!  (AKA Taggarik - which is Inuktitut for "Pitch Black".)  Oh yeah, I'm also known as Can. Champion Alamar Black Orpheus.  That's all a lot of nonsense of course. It just means I strutted my stuff up and down a ring and some people thought I was pretty. (Of course I am, but I didn't need anyone to tell me that.)

I'm a Curly Coated Retriever.  Pop calls me Wooly Bully (and some other things sometimes when I'm bad). But I'm never bad. ;-)

I like my sister, Piqa. Sometimes she doesn't like me. I like to play. (I'm only 2 1/2 years old) and Piqa is more "mature".  She plays with me some times. Sometimes she nips at me.  She doesn't hurt me though.  I'm too fast for her.

I have a big bark and I'm a big black dog.  Pop says I scare people, but I don't mean to. I'm just saying hi and please stay away from me until I get to sniff you. I can't help it if I'm big and black and look like Woopie Goldberg after she's stuck her finger in a plug. I'm really a great big sook, or as Pop calls me, the world's biggest lap dog.

Pop wants me to boast a little:

I'm the number one Canadian Curly this year. There is a dog (Thriller) who has more points than I do, but he's not a Canadian dog. I did REALLY well in my short show career. Some crazy lady said I was the second best dog in show. Crazy right! We all know I was the best.  :-)  I mean, just look at me!

I spend all my time hiking in the woods with Pop and Piqa. I love eating smelly things. I chase critters when I see them. Pop says I should grow up soon.  I also like my SAR training. My sister is very good at that. I enjoy all the smells too much right now, but I'm getting better. (Pop has threatened to cut my jingle bells off if I keep chasing all the little cuties in the SAR group. What does that mean?)

My show career is probably over, EXCEPT, Pop says I'm going to the USA in September to go to a show where I may get a chance to meet some of my brothers and sisters, or at the very least some relatives. Pop wants to meet some people whom he's talked to and who've helped in try to figure me out.  LOL   Good luck with that.

If you see me in the woods and I run up to you and bark hello, please don't be afraid of me. I'm just "exuberant".
